Nantwich Tennis Club Rules
1. Courts
All coaching, matches, tournaments, practices and club sessions must be entered in the bookings diary by the relevant person - e.g. coach/captain. These bookings will take priority over casual play.
Members shall be entitled to play on the courts at anytime except when courts have been pre-booked for matches, coaching or tournaments.
If members are waiting to play, then one set should be played and the waiting members to be invited to join in.
Bookings by members may be made on Courts 5 and 6 only. Sessions can last for only one and a half hours.
All floodlight tennis is required to finish no later than 10pm. Floodlights must be switched off by 10pm.
Adult Club nights will run on Mondays and Wednesdays. Monday Club nights will continue all year round. Wednesdays will finish at the end of October. In the Winter members will be charged a fee to cover the cost of floodlights.
Junior Club nights to run on Friday evenings.
League matches cannot be re-booked on Club nights or junior coaching sessions.
Juniors may play up until 7pm on any night except where court bookings take priority.
After 7pm adults have priority except on the junior court #4, which is for the use of Juniors only. If there are adults waiting to play on Club nights then juniors shall give way to any adults waiting.
2. Dress
Recognised tennis clothing should be worn. No football shirts allowed. Tennis shoes must be worn on court and have a suitable sole. The club shoe tag must be worn to indicate membership.
3. Balls
Team captains will be allocated match balls. After use they should be shared amongst team members.
All members to provide their own balls.
4. Floodlighting
In the Summer season floodlighting is provided free of charge. A token for the light meter is left in the unlocked meter drawer. In the Winter season members will need to purchase tokens from the nominated holders - names in the Club house.
5. Team Selection
Captains for each team to be elected at the AGM each year. All eligible members shall be invited to play in the teams. Players wishing to play in teams should attend practices held at the beginning of each season and express their interest to the captains. Captains should form a selection panel and agree to team selections. Players to be selected on ability and the best players should be selected for the higher placed team. Junior members may be selected in any team if they are of the required standard.
6. Visitors and Guests
Visitors must be signed into the visitors book by a member, and the fee paid, before playing. Non-members are not covered for insurance purposes unless they have been signed in. Visitors are allowed 3 visits only; after which they must become a member if they wish to continue to play at the Club.
7. Security
The last person to leave the Club should ensure that:
the nets are lowered,
balls cleared,
courts locked,
the floodlights and lights in the Club house are all turned off, and
ensure that the window shutter is lowered and the main door is locked.
Drive gate to be shut.
8. Speed Limit
Speed limit in the drive is 5mph.
9. Dogs
Dogs are allowed on the premises on condition that they are kept on a lead and under control at all times.
Any dog mess must be removed by the person responsible for the dog.
10. Rules
May be amended by the Club's General Committee.
